Yocto/OpenEmbedded Boot Camp
I am happy to announce the Yocto/OpenEmbedded Boot Camp, a hands-on event for people interested in getting started building their own custom Linux operating systems on devices such as the BeagleBone, Raspberry Pi, or even x86 machines. The applications for these are endless, including remote sensor nodes, 3D printers, drone auto-pilots, and much more!
This event will take place at the Santa Barbara Hackerspace on Sunday, the 23rd of August at 13:00 PDT. Several experienced members of the Santa Barbara Linux User Group will be present to help you get started. All you need to bring is a suitable system and a laptop to build the OS for it. Check out the event’s Meetup page to register, learn more details about the event, or to ask a question about how suitable a particular device you are interested in might be.
